Robin’s Portrait

Robin's Portrait

Ballpoint Pen, Black, A4

About This Project

Back in 2009 I was still drawing with black ballpoint pen. I loved the medium for the similar appearance it gave to pencil, but with the requirement of careful strategy and skill. Erasing wasn’t an option if I made a mistake. So for me, it was more valuable, since detailed ballpoint sketches were less common than pencil sketches; and for the absolute concentration and care that went into one drawing.

Robin’s Portrait was a birthday gift. Yeah… foolishly I liked her at the time. What do guys like me do if they like a girl? They try to impress her with the best skill they possess, which in my case was art.
