The children of a woman I’ll call “Narnia.” I was commissioned to create this as a birthday gift for her. Multiple photos of her two children were provided and I combined the best two in one photo before-hand, and worked from there.
Stating the truth – due to the lack of time to complete this artwork before it had to get printed, I wasn’t able to add the amount of detail I wanted to. In the end, the result still remained stunning, leaving behind a simplistic and contemporary piece of work.
The lack of detail lines in the faces and clothes makes this artwork unique. The strongest characteristics are the shadows and highlights that form their features; combined with the rich use of colour, especially the turquoise and orange.
This artwork is true to minimalism, with the lack of background details and colours, drawing the focus much more to the subjects.
